A division of the UCSF Department of Public Affairs, the UCSF News Office handles news and media relations for all programs affiliated with the UCSF Campus, UCSF Medical Center and UCSF Children's Hospital. This responsibility includes writing and distributing news releases, responding to inquiries from journalists, identifying faculty experts for interviews, maintaining communication with journalists at the local, regional, and international level, developing strategic communications plans and tracking media coverage about UCSF.
UCSF programs are located at five major sites in San Francisco: the main UCSF Parnassus Campus, UCSF Mount Zion, UCSF Mission Bay, the UCSF-affiliated San Francisco General Hospital Medical Center and the UCSF-affiliated San Francisco Veterans Affairs Medical Center. In addition, there is a UCSF Medical Education Program in Fresno.
